OZUNU

Most Powerful Psychic

Fourteen centuries ago, Japan was home to the most powerful psychic in its history.

His name was En no Ozunu.

By remixing Indian esoteric Buddhism, Chinese Taoism, and Japan’s native mountain worship, En no Ozunu created a unique spiritual philosophy that eventually influenced even the politics of the imperial court and aristocracy.

What stands out most is his legendary ascetic practice—spending over 30 years deep in mountain caves. During this time, he is said to have developed supernatural abilities, such as flying through the air and commanding demons as he roamed the peaks. Over time, he became known as a man whose powers surpassed even those of the kami. After living an extraordinary life, he suddenly vanished.

Later generations believed he had become an immortal sage and journeyed to China to live among fellow immortals.

So what kind of being was a Japanese psychic?

In this video, we explore the mysterious life of En no Ozunu—a figure so enigmatic that some believe he may have been an extraterrestrial.
